About TÔNN

TÔNN furniture is a Swedish design company that creates furniture to celebrate everyday life. The Portal shelving system, the heroine of our furniture collection, is easy to customize, expand and divide. We believe that sustainable and personalized interior design is the key to a comfortable home. TÔNN was founded in 2011 in Stockholm by Josefine Halfwordson.

We believe that good design can make everyday life a little better.

From our showroom at Mariatorget we work closely with our customers. Our designers help plan shelving systems tailored to their homes. You’re always welcome to stop by if you want to see the shelves in real life, compare colors or discuss solutions for your home.

Together with our customers, we have built the Portal shelving system, which we believe is a big part of its popularity.

We produce our furniture in Latvia and Lithuania. Everything is stored in our own warehouse in Nacka, just outside Stockholm. From there, we ship shelves daily to customers all over the world.

How it started

It all started in my first shop on Sveavägen. Back then, the company was called Betonggruvan. I needed a shelf to display the products I was selling. The shelf had to be easy to assemble, airy and simple to rebuild. It did the job, and customers began asking if they could buy it.

As more and more people asked, I saw the product’s potential. After several rounds at the drawing board, adjustments and finding a manufacturer, the shelf finally became a finished product – the Portal shelving system.

Since then, we’ve added more colors, heights and accessories. Thanks to our customers’ ideas and needs, we continuously develop the shelf to make Portal the shelving system for every room in the home.
