TÔNN JOURNAL

Josephine Blix

Josephine Blix, founder of the bedding company Midnatt, lives next door to the king and has gained more space in her 18th-century house thanks to a magnificent Portal shelf. We visit the old stable at Drottningholm and talk about building relationships with things, water-damaged libraries, and letting the whole family play in the shelf.

FAQ

Can I rebuild the shelf if I move or my needs change?

Yes. All parts of Portal are separate, so you can move sections, cabinets and drawers, mirror the shelf or split it across two walls. The shelf adapts as life changes.

Can I start with a smaller shelf and add to it later?

Absolutely. You can add shelf ladders, shelves, cabinets and drawers at any time and extend your shelf. Many people start simple and build on as their needs grow.

In our Facebook group TÔNN 4-ever, customers also buy and sell parts with each other. There you can find what you need, or sell what you no longer use.

How do I know which size fits my room?

Measure the width of the wall and the ceiling height. A good tip is to mark out the shelf’s dimensions on the wall with masking tape, so you can see how big it will be. In the Portal Planner you can then try out different widths and heights. If you’d like help, you can book a free consultation with us.

Will the shelf work on my wall?

The shelf ladders are fixed to the wall with two screws for low ladders and three screws for tall ladders. Screws and wall plugs in a matching colour are included, and are intended for walls of good quality. If you’re unsure, get in touch and we’ll help you.

Can I see the colour before I buy?

Yes. You can order colour samples. If the shelf doesn’t turn out the way you imagined, you have a 30-day return policy.
